The handling of President Droupadi Murmu's visit to West Bengal came under fire from the Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram. The organization condemned what it termed "disrespectful" behavior by the state government towards the tribal community and the Santhali language.
According to Satyendra Singh, the group's national president, security lapses were evident during the President's visit to Siliguri. Notably, neither Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee nor any senior ministers were present, as mandated by protocol.
The situation escalated during the International Santhal Conference in Darjeeling, where venue changes and logistical issues reportedly marred the event, hampering attendees from India and neighboring countries.
