Kashmir's scenic tourist destinations are set to welcome visitors once again, thanks to the intervention of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed his gratitude, highlighting the significant impact this decision will have on local tourism and the livelihoods of residents.
The closure of these sites followed last year's tragic Pahalgam terror attack, which left 26 dead, mostly tourists. Abdullah underscored that even during turbulent times, such closures were unprecedented, and reopening them could boost the region's economy.
On a political note, Abdullah criticized BJP's inconsistent actions in the region and pledged efforts to address power supply issues during Ramzan and regularize employment for daily wagers, advising against politicized protests.
