A tragic accident occurred on the Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway, claiming the life of a 55-year-old woman, Dhuma Devi, and injuring seven others. The unfortunate event took place when a car collided with a stationary truck loaded with iron rods in Tehri district.
The occupants, hailing from Faridabad, were en route to Pauri, Uttarakhand. The crash led to the car's mangled remains, necessitating the use of gas cutters by the police to retrieve Devi's body.
Authorities reported that the remaining passengers sustained minor injuries and were immediately taken to a hospital. The local police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) conducted the rescue procedures efficiently upon receiving the alert.
