Haryana witnessed an impressive 22% growth in its gross State GST revenue for the financial year 2025-26, outpacing all other states, according to an official spokesperson. The national average for SGST revenue growth stood at 6% over the same period.
The state's SGST collection (post-settlement) climbed to Rs 48,289 crore for FY26, an increase of Rs 8,546 crore from the previous year. Haryana improved its rank to sixth in the nation in SGST collections, surpassing states like Telangana, West Bengal, and Rajasthan, the spokesperson noted.
This growth momentum is credited to GST rate rationalisation reforms by the GST Council in September 2025, leading to better tax administration and increased economic activity. Chief Minister Nayab Singh expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the reforms, celebrated as 'GST Bachat Utsav'. The state aims to further strengthen its tax administration and reduce tax evasion as detailed in the FY27 budget.
