Delhi Extends Electric Vehicle Policy to Boost Green Mobility
The Delhi government has extended its electric vehicle policy for three more months, aiming to combat vehicular pollution and encourage EV adoption. Although the initial policy ended in August 2023, the new version, which is yet to be finalized, will include incentives and infrastructure improvements to enhance EV sales and support clean mobility.

The Delhi government has announced a three-month extension to its electric vehicle policy, originally launched in August 2020 as a major initiative to reduce vehicular pollution.
The original policy term ended in August 2023, but extensions have been made while the draft for Delhi Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2.0 is still under development. Key components of the new policy include increased incentives and improved infrastructure with 7,000 new charging points planned this year.
The policy aims to cover the years 2026–2030, focusing on enhancing electric vehicle uptake, improving air quality, and supporting the transition to cleaner mobility solutions in the capital.
