Severe Cyclone Montha Grounds Flights and Trains in Andhra Pradesh
In response to Cyclone Montha, significant disruptions ensued in Andhra Pradesh, with all 32 flights cancelled at Visakhapatnam Airport and 120 train cancellations across the South Central Railway Zone. Multiple airports, including Vijayawada and Tirupati, also faced cancellations, resulting in widespread travel chaos.

Severe Cyclone Montha has resulted in the cancellation of all 32 scheduled flights at Visakhapatnam Airport, as confirmed by officials. This included two Air India Express flights which were cancelled on October 27.
Visakhapatnam Airport Director N Purushottam stated that regular operations of 30 to 32 daily flights, both domestic and international, were halted due to the adverse weather conditions. Precautionary measures were in place as per the Airports Authority of India guidelines, spanning both pre-cyclone and post-cyclone phases.
Similarly, Vijayawada Airport cancelled 16 flights but managed to operate five. Director Lakshmikanth Reddy mentioned that operations were suspended for safety, with potential updates by evening on the status for subsequent days. Tirupati Airport also saw four flights grounded, while the South Central Railway Zone confirmed a total of 120 train cancellations across October 27 and Tuesday.
