The cyclone began its landfall in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, around 7 p.m., with the process expected to last around four hours. Preliminary damage reports from eight southern districts include landslides, with roads blocked and power lines down.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi confirmed the establishment of over 2,000 cyclone shelters, with rescuers from NDRF, ODRAF, and Fire Services ready to respond. Train services were disrupted, and authorities have sealed all beaches to ensure public safety as the coastal areas remain on high alert.
