In a bid to improve air quality, the Delhi government has announced a ban on non-BS-VI compliant commercial goods vehicles, registered outside the city, from entering the national capital starting November 1. This decisive action follows the directives of the Commission for Air Quality Management.
Vehicles adhering to BS-VI emission standards significantly contribute to pollution reduction, positioning this regulation as a pivotal solution. Local vehicles and those running on cleaner fuels such as CNG, LNG, or electricity remain unaffected by the new rule.
Transport associations, including prominent figures like Bhim Wadhawa and Rajendra Kapoor, express intentions to negotiate an extension for BS-IV vehicles. They plan to approach the court to challenge the restrictions if necessary.
