Mumbai City FC delivered a dominant performance, winning 4-1 against Sporting Club Delhi in the AIFF Super Cup 2025-26 Group D opener, held at PJN Stadium in Fatorda, Goa, on Monday. The Islanders showcased their attacking prowess with first-half goals from Jorge Pereyra Diaz, Vikram Partap Singh, and Jorge Ortiz.

Despite conceding three early goals, Sporting Club Delhi responded with determination in the second half. Andrei Alba scored from the penalty spot, marking SC Delhi's first-ever goal in the competition. However, it was Mumbai City who had the final say, as Vikram Partap Singh scored again in stoppage time.

Mumbai City dominated the match from the outset, with their first goal arriving in the sixth minute, set up by a clever assist from Lallianzuala Chhangte and Tiri. The aggressiveness of Mumbai's forwards highlighted SC Delhi's defensive vulnerabilities, resulting in another goal before halftime.
