American electric carmaker Tesla has taken a significant step in its Indian journey with the introduction of the Model YL, a three-row six-seater SUV priced at Rs 61.99 lakh. This launch, Tesla's second in the Indian market, aims to accelerate its presence and attract the luxury SUV segment's clientele.
Tesla announced the Model YL would rival high-end competitors like the Mercedes-Benz EQS and EQB, alongside the MG9, highlighting its exceptional performance capabilities including a 0-100kph time of 5.0 seconds and a range up to 681 km. Focused on building a robust ecosystem, Tesla India General Manager Sharad Agarwal shared plans for a comprehensive charging network expansion.
The firm is committed to constructing an extensive infrastructure, connecting major metros such as Delhi, Jaipur, and Bangalore with supercharger stations and home charging solutions. This strategic move not only addresses the growing demand for electric vehicles in India but also strengthens Tesla's foothold in the local automotive market.
