In a significant move set to reshape the landscape of fresh protein retail in India, Allana Group, along with its subsidiary Indian Poultry Alliance and global seafood player Captain Fresh, have formed a new joint venture. Announced as Indian Retail Alliance Pvt Ltd (IRAPL), this collaborative effort aims to organize a vast retail ecosystem for fresh protein products.

According to a company statement, the Allana Group will hold a majority 51 percent stake in IRAPL, while Captain Fresh owns the remaining 49 percent. This venture seeks to establish approximately 4,000 retail outlets nationwide within four years, leveraging Captain Fresh's seafood supply chain skills and technology while utilizing Allana Group's robust infrastructure and processing expertise.

IRAPL plans to offer a diverse selection of fresh protein goods, including seafood, chicken, and mutton, via extensive distribution channels. These will encompass standalone stores, shop-in-shop formats, and partnerships with hotels, restaurants, and catering services. Asim Allana, a promoter of Allana Group, emphasized the JV's potential to serve as a pivotal platform for advancing the fresh protein retail sector in India.
