China's CATL on Tuesday revealed a range of groundbreaking technological advancements in electric vehicle batteries, setting forth to redefine industry standards and augment its prevailing global dominance.
At a 90-minute event in Beijing, CATL unveiled its latest Qilin battery, promising a lighter battery pack capable of providing a 1,000-km driving range per charge, addressing increasing automotive demands under tighter energy efficiency regulations in both China and abroad. Additionally, CATL introduced its upgraded Shenxing battery, which can be charged from 10% to 98% in less than seven minutes, aimed at mitigating EV users' range anxiety.
With plans to begin mass delivery of sodium-ion batteries by the fourth quarter, the company offers what Chairman Robin Zeng describes as a "resource-resilient option for future large-scale energy transitions." Ahead of the Beijing Auto Show, CATL leverages its latest tech to further align with policy directives focusing on quality, emphasizing the credibility of Chinese brands in global markets.
