China's CATL has made a groundbreaking advancement in electric vehicle technology with the launch of its new Qilin battery. This latest-generation flagship model boasts technological features that allow a lighter battery pack to provide a driving range of 1,000 kilometers (621.4 miles) per charge.

Gao Huan, the chief technology officer at CATL, highlighted that the Qilin battery is designed to meet the increasing demand from automakers. These manufacturers are under pressure due to tightening energy efficiency regulations both domestically in China and internationally.

In addition to the Qilin battery, CATL introduced an upgraded version of its Shenxing battery. Remarkably, this model can charge from 10% to 98% in less than seven minutes, offering a significant boost to electric vehicle performance and convenience.
