Four Indian boxers have been elevated to the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) Core group after their standout performances at the 2026 Asian Boxing Elite Championships in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Preeti Pawar, Priya, Arundhati Chaudhary, and Sachin shone at the continental meet, securing top ranks, which facilitated their promotion. Their recent achievements were closely examined by the Mission Olympic Cell, leading to the decision made during its 172nd meeting.
The Target Olympic Podium Scheme focuses on supporting athletes with potential for excellent performance, and these boxers have shown significant promise. The scheme also included three additional boxers into its Development group, ensuring the continued nurturing of emerging talents in Indian boxing.
