Parliamentary Panel Explores Sports Infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh
A Parliamentary Standing Committee led by Congress MP Digvijaya Singh conducted a study visit in Arunachal Pradesh to assess sports infrastructure. The tour included the National Centre of Excellence at Sangey Lhaden Sports Academy and concluded in Ziro Valley. Discussions were held with key stakeholders in sports and education.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports visited Arunachal Pradesh, spearheading efforts to evaluate the state’s sports infrastructure. Led by Congress MP Digvijaya Singh, the committee began its examination at the National Centre of Excellence of the Sports Authority of India in Chimpu.
The team engaged in extensive dialogues with officials from both Union and state sports departments, and public sector undertakings including NHPC, NEEPCO, and SJVN. They also engaged with members of the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Rajiv Gandhi University, and the Directorate of Cultural Affairs to understand the region's needs and aspirations.
The committee concluded its visit in the picturesque Ziro Valley, a location praised for its strong prospects in tourism and youth development, underlining the area's potential as a vital hub for future growth.
