The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) recently reached out to India's cricket governing body, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), expressing interest in forging new cricket collaborations. Nazmul Abedin Fahim, BCB's Director of Cricket Operations, confirmed to ANI that the approach was made through a formal letter via email.

Included in this communication was the agenda for the Indian cricket team's scheduled visit to Bangladesh for a series in September, followed by a reciprocal tour by Bangladesh's women's team to India. The BCB's letter also highlighted the potential for additional cooperation in the sport.

Past tensions between the two countries arose when local political pressures prevented Bangladeshi player Mustafizur Rahman from participating in the IPL with Kolkata Knight Riders. Following an electoral change in Bangladesh, relations are improving, coinciding with a visit by Bangladesh's Foreign Minister to India aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, including in cricket.
