MLS 30th Season Breaks Records in Viewership and Attendance

Yearly live viewership increased by 29%, total attendance marked the second-highest in history, and digital impressions rose by 17%. Superstar signings like Son Heung-Min further boosted attendance and fan engagement metrics.
Major League Soccer (MLS) announced Thursday that its 30th regular season has achieved impressive growth metrics, showcasing a substantial increase in viewership, attendance, and digital interactions.
The league reported a 29% year-over-year rise in weekly live viewership, culminating in 3.7 million gross live viewers per week. Attendance soared, recording 11.2 million attendees for the season, with the average attendance per match reaching 21,988, marking a 12% increase since 2022.
Digital presence skyrocketed with league accounts amassing 13.7 billion impressions, a 17% rise from last year. The addition of global stars like Lionel Messi and Son Heung-Min significantly contributed to the boost, with Son's entry alone causing a 16% rise in LAFC's road game attendance. MLS is experiencing the fastest digital engagement growth among North American leagues.
