A man lost his life and numerous homes faced severe flooding after a powerful storm hit Greece. The storm left authorities scrambling to manage the damage on Thursday.
In the seaside resort town of Nea Makri, situated 35 kilometers northeast of Athens, authorities found the man's body. Local media indicate he was swept away by a torrent, ultimately trapped under a vehicle while trying to cross a flooded road.
Efforts to combat the aftermath of the storm continued, with emergency teams receiving hundreds of calls for assistance. Crews worked throughout the night to clear debris, manage floodwaters, and restore infrastructure, while ferry services were temporarily suspended due to ongoing stormy conditions in the region.
