Karnataka Pushes for Green Light on Major Irrigation Projects

The Karnataka government has pressed for speedy approval for Rs 3,052 crore in irrigation projects under central schemes, with State Minister N S Boseraju reporting an optimistic response from the union government.

After meetings in New Delhi, Boseraju conveyed that the state has already committed 40% of the funding in its budget, while the Centre is expected to cover the remaining 60%. The aim is to fast-track these initiatives with early approvals.

Additionally, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar met with Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu to discuss aviation infrastructure, including an airport development in Raichur and resuming Kalaburagi flights under the UDAN scheme.
