Delhi's Green Initiative: New CNG Tipper Trucks to Enhance Waste Management

Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh unveiled 48 new compressed natural gas (CNG) tipper trucks on Tuesday, aiming to enhance the city's horticulture waste collection efforts. The event occurred at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi headquarters.

The newly inducted trucks, designed with hydraulic tipping systems, will optimize the collection and transportation of green waste from municipal parks to designated centers. With this addition, the total number of vehicles in the horticulture department's fleet has increased to 74, significantly boosting efficiency and reducing manual dependability.

Funded by the Urban Development Fund, the vehicles are compliant with the stringent BS-VI emission norms and have passed rigorous quality checks conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. The initiative aligns with efforts to upgrade civic services and sanitation in coordination with the Delhi government.
