In a review meeting at Lok Bhavan, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd) stressed the importance of cleanliness in Itanagar, urging citizens to share responsibility for the city's hygiene. Parnaik called for the effective use of municipal funds and active citizen involvement.
The Governor highlighted the need for developing a green corridor from Donyi Polo Airport to the capital to reflect Arunachal Pradesh's rich flora and fauna. He underscored the significance of maintaining public spaces like the cremation ground with dignity and called for public cooperation in these efforts.
Urban Development Commissioner Vivek Pandey discussed waste disposal improvements, while Mayor Likha Nari Tadar advocated for a plastic-free city. The meeting witnessed unanimous emphasis on cohesive efforts by institutions and public participation.
