Cyclone Montha, which made landfall on the Andhra Pradesh coast early Tuesday, has resulted in significant destruction, claiming three lives and damaging crops across 1.50 lakh acres. Despite these losses, effective governmental measures ensured a minimization of further impacts.
The state administration conducted a reviewing session at the Real Time Governance System, revealing three casualties and ordering compensation of Rs 5 lakh for each affected family. Additionally, 42 livestock perished due to the cyclone.
Following Montha's landfall near Antarvedi village, it weakened into a deep depression. An aerial inspection led by Chief Minister Naidu assessed cyclone-hit areas and facilitated the distribution of relief supplies to evacuees. As agricultural damages were tallied, Naidu emphasized continued dedication to relief efforts in Andhra Pradesh.
