Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, on Wednesday, spearheaded a critical meeting with Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and industry associations, targeting strategies to accelerate India's export growth. Key discussions revolved around leveraging Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) for enhanced market access, fostering value addition, market diversification, and fortifying sectoral linkages.

On social media platform X, Goyal announced, "Chaired a meeting with representatives from diverse sectors, exploring strategies to propel India's export growth. Discussions included harnessing FTAs for greater market access, driving value addition, expanding market diversification & strengthening sectoral synergies." His commitment remains focused on unlocking pathways for sustainable, quality-driven export enhancement.

Earlier, Goyal indicated progress towards a "fair, equitable and balanced" FTA with the EU, following his visit to Brussels. Productive discussions with Maros Sefcovic, the European Commissioner for Trade, highlighted progress in the ongoing negotiations. As both parties prepare for further talks, Goyal's interactions in the Berlin Global Dialogue underscored a mutual interest in strengthening ties with European nations. (ANI)
