The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of a potential cyclone affecting the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with a cyclonic circulation building over the Bay of Bengal predicted to intensify from October 21.
Consequently, officials have issued local port warnings, forecasting heavy rains until October 23. Intense thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds and lightning are expected in the region on October 21, 22, and 23.
Adverse sea conditions, including high winds and rough waters expected from October 22 to 23, pose a threat to safety. Fishermen are urged to avoid the sea, while boat owners and tourists should exercise increased caution and adhere to safety directives from the local administration.
