Delhi Metro Expands Platforms to Ease Commuter Congestion
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) plans to expand platforms at 32 stations to alleviate congestion and enhance commuter convenience. With a budget of Rs 5.71 crore and completion in one year, the initiative aims to accommodate longer trains and increasing ridership, improving passenger safety and comfort.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is set to extend platforms at 32 stations to tackle rush-hour congestion and boost commuter convenience. Locations including Noida Sector-15, 16, and 18, Golf Course, and Noida City Centre on Line-3 are set for upgrades, an official revealed.
In a move to accommodate increasing ridership and future needs, the DMRC has floated a tender of approximately Rs 5.71 crore. The project is to be executed within a year from the commencement date. The tender was issued on October 24 and submissions close by November 17, with technical evaluations beginning November 18.
The platform extensions will allow stations to support longer trains and larger passenger volumes, reducing congestion and enhancing safety. As part of DMRC's ongoing infrastructure improvements along busy corridors, the expansions are expected to significantly benefit millions of Delhi Metro passengers.
