The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has established seven special teams tasked with ensuring robust security measures for the upcoming vote counting on May 4. This initiative, developed in collaboration with AICC general secretary and Assam in-charge Jitendra Singh and APCC president Gaurav Gogoi, is part of a larger strategy to maintain electoral integrity across the state.

Following a significant voter turnout of 85.96 percent in the April 9 assembly polls, these teams are set to visit various districts, inspect the designated strongrooms, and liaise with the respective district administrations starting April 25. The teams have been strategically deployed in regions including Upper Assam, North Bank, Central Assam, and others, each led by prominent party members.

The release notes the selection of experienced leaders including Debabrata Saikia, Ripun Bora, and Rakibul Hussain, among others, to oversee the operations in their assigned areas, ensuring that all aspects of the vote-counting process are conducted without irregularities or disruptions.
