Polling in Tamil Nadu's 234 Assembly constituencies saw enthusiastic voter participation on Thursday, with approximately 38% of the 5.73 crore eligible voters casting their ballots by 11 am, according to the Election Commission of India (EC).
By the first four hours since polling began at 7 am, the turnout was 37.56%. Nearly two crore voters had exercised their franchise, reflecting brisk activity across various districts.
Highlights included Tiruppur district leading with a 42.45% turnout, while Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, and Tiruchirappalli maintained strong numbers. Key political figures, including Chief Minister M K Stalin, Deputy CM Udhayanidhi, and AIADMK's Edappadi K Palaniswami, are contesting from significant constituencies.
