Coimbatore North's BJP candidate, Vanathi Srinivasan, confidently asserted on Thursday that the NDA, led by AIADMK, is set for a decisive victory in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections. Her remarks came as polling progressed across 234 assembly constituencies.
After voting in western Tamil Nadu, Srinivasan noted heightened enthusiasm among the electorate, particularly youth and women, for a shift in governance. She accused the ruling DMK of attempting to sway voters with bribes, claiming Rs 2,000 was offered per voter in her area.
Srinivasan, also the BJP Mahila Morcha chief, criticized DMK's lack of development in Coimbatore over the past five years and questioned their need to resort to financial inducements. She underscored the growing support for NDA, asserting it will sweep all constituencies in Coimbatore.
