Robust Forces Mobilized for West Bengal's Second Phase Elections

The Election Commission has confirmed the significant allocation of 2,321 companies of central forces to ensure security during the second phase of the West Bengal assembly elections on April 29.
Each force unit consists of a minimum of 72 armed personnel, tasked with maintaining strict vigilance throughout the election process, an official explained.
The forces are composed of personnel from several units, including the CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, NSG, and Assam Rifles. The strategic deployment is informed by past elections and current vulnerability assessments, aiming to cover 142 assembly constituencies, with a focus on sensitive regions.
