Arun Kumar Singh 'Munna', former Uttar Pradesh Congress president and a cabinet minister during the 1980s, has died in Prayagraj after a prolonged illness, according to his son. The 85-year-old was mourned by Congress leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, highlighting his lifetime of dedication to public service.

His son, Abhishek, stated that Singh's condition worsened three days prior to his passing, leading to his admission to a private hospital where he eventually died. The family brought his remains back to their native village in Jaunpur district after his demise.
