Hagi, who dazzled as an attacking midfielder for Barcelona and Real Madrid, first coached the national team briefly in 2001. His career now circles back, supported by extensive coaching experience in clubs such as Galatasaray.
Tasked with reinvigorating Romania's ranking, Hagi is contracted until the 2030 World Cup. Federation president Razvan Burleanu emphasizes past efforts to re-engage Hagi, who is to lead the team through significant fixtures in 2024.
