BJP spokesperson NV Subhash launched a scathing critique against Congress, specifically targeting its leader Rahul Gandhi, for the party's dwindling influence in Tamil Nadu. In an interview with ANI, Subhash claimed that Congress had lost its identity in the state and no longer holds sway over the electorate.

Subhash further alleged that Rahul Gandhi's perceived divisiveness had undermined the leadership credibility of Congress in Tamil Nadu. He accused the Congress leader of fostering a North-South divide, which he argued weakened the party's standing in the state. 'At one time, Tamil Nadu had many influential leaders, but their credibility diminished,' he remarked.

In a broadside against the ruling DMK and its allies, Subhash charged them with perpetuating fears in southern states about northern dominance. He labeled this narrative as 'false' and criticized Congress for employing a 'divide and rule' strategy. Expressing faith in the NDA alliance, Subhash commended AIADMK for bolstering Tamil Nadu’s identity and patriotism, emphasizing their joint efforts with BJP to benefit both the state and the nation. As Tamil Nadu braces for polls on April 23, a fierce battle is anticipated between the DMK-led and NDA-led alliances, laden with heated exchanges on issues like federalism and cultural identity.
