Trump's Board of Peace Eyes DP World for Gaza's Rebuild
Discussions between the U.S. Board of Peace and Dubai's DP World aim to manage supply chains for rehabilitating Gaza's war-torn infrastructure, a task estimated at $70 billion. Talks include logistics, warehousing, and security for humanitarian aid, with proposals for a new port and free-trade zone.
The United States Board of Peace, initiated by President Donald Trump, has entered discussions with Dubai-based multinational DP World to address supply chain management and infrastructural redevelopment in Gaza, according to a Financial Times report.
Gaza, severely damaged by Israeli bombardment over two years, requires an estimated $70 billion for rehabilitation. Talks between DP World and the Board of Peace are centered on a potential partnership to manage logistics, focusing on humanitarian aid and goods entering the region. This includes plans for warehousing, tracking systems, and security measures.
Proposals on the table also involve constructing a new port in Gaza or nearby Egypt, and possibly developing a free-trade zone in the region, highlighting DP World's active engagement in rebuilding efforts. Both DP World and the White House have not commented, as Trump's Board of Peace pushes forward its mission to end conflict and facilitate reconstruction.
