BJP candidate Dilip Ghosh is optimistic about securing a victory in the West Bengal assembly elections for the Kharagpur Sadar constituency. Addressing reporters on Tuesday, Ghosh asserted that the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) is on the brink of a downfall, with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee losing her grip on power.
Ghosh emphasized that the presence of central forces at polling booths will empower citizens to cast their votes without fear of intimidation by TMC-affiliated goons. 'The central forces supervising the booths will assure voters that they can participate freely in the election without being bullied by local authorities,' he remarked.
Dilip Ghosh, hoping to repeat his successful 2016 performance, is running against TMC's Pradip Sarkar. The constituency, with around 1.9 lakh voters from a population of 4 lakh, faces issues such as pollution and unemployment. As the area prepares for the upcoming two-phase elections on April 23 and 29, the outcome will be pivotal in addressing local challenges.
