Union Minister Defends Delimitation Bill Amidst Political Allegations
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi defended the Center against Opposition allegations about the Delimitation Bill. In a robust defense of the Delimitation Bill, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi addressed the allegations from the Opposition regarding benefits to the BJP. He stated that irrespective of the number of seats, the BJP will secure victory, referencing the unsuccessful passage of the 131st Constitution Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha.
Joshi emphasized the necessity of delimitation to accommodate an increased population, arguing that the delinking of census data from delimitation was intended to support women's reservation and expand parliamentary representation. He criticized Congress for allegedly undermining women's entry into parliament through their opposition tactics.
The Union Minister also responded to Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin's suggestion of postponing delimitation, attributing it to an attempt to create regional divisions. Joshi affirmed the BJP's confidence in garnering support across regions and stressed that public faith in Prime Minister Modi's leadership remains strong.
