In a heated session of the Lok Sabha on Friday, opposition members fiercely criticized the government's attempt to amend the Women's Quota Law of 2023 before fully implementing it.
The controversy unfolded when K C Venugopal highlighted a law ministry notification passed late Thursday night, which set the law's enforcement date as April 16.
DMK member Kanimozhi questioned the rationale behind discussing an amendment to an unenforced law, seeking a response from Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. An official justified the move, citing the necessity for the amendment's proposed changes to take effect.
