Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has slammed the Centre's proposed amendments to the Women's Reservation Amendment Bill, describing the move as a threat to national unity and democracy.
During a press briefing in Delhi, Chennithala criticized the government's lack of sincerity regarding women's reservation, insisting changes should be enacted with the existing number of seats in the Lok Sabha.
The Opposition has united in objection, arguing the amendments—set for discussion in a special parliamentary session—are politically motivated and designed for electoral advantages, raising concerns about democratic integrity.
