Sibal's Swipe at BJP's Electoral Strategy in West Bengal
Kapil Sibal, Rajya Sabha member, highlighted allegations against BJP for manipulating voter registrations in West Bengal by including illegal voters from other states. His remarks follow West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's accusations. The situation has raised questions about the Election Commission's impartiality and BJP's self-reliance in elections.

Rajya Sabha member Kapil Sibal took aim at the BJP on Saturday by highlighting five alleged cases of voters registered in both West Bengal and Bihar. He criticized the party for relying on the Election Commission for electoral support rather than being genuinely 'atmanirbhar' or self-reliant.
Sibal's charges echo those of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who accused the BJP of attempting to bolster its votes by adding illegal voters from NDA-ruled states. These developments have brought the neutrality of the Election Commission into question just weeks before elections in West Bengal, set for April 23 and 29.
Addressing a press conference, Sibal showcased evidence including a video from November last year that claimed trains were deployed for voting purposes in Bihar. He linked the BJP's strategy to a broader issue of alleged electoral mismanagement, citing instances of inflated voter counts in Maharashtra and Delhi as well.
