The Election Commission of India has raised concerns over the security arrangements for individuals allegedly connected to the ruling Trinamool Congress ahead of the West Bengal elections.
This issue was described as a 'lapse' by a senior official, who noted that the poll panel has demanded immediate corrective measures from the Director General of Police.
With 2,185 police personnel apparently assigned to protect 976 individuals with ties to TMC, the ECI insists that security protocols must remain impartial, urging a thorough professional review by the DGP within three days.
