Suvendu Adhikari, the BJP candidate from Bhabanipur Assembly constituency, officially entered the race for the upcoming West Bengal elections by filing his nomination on Thursday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP West Bengal President Samik Bhattacharya were present to support Adhikari during the nomination process.

Adhikari is contesting in both Bhabanipur and Nandigram constituencies under the BJP banner in the two-phase assembly polls. The Bhabanipur seat presents a high-octane battle against Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee. Meanwhile, retaining Nandigram remains a critical objective for Adhikari, especially given the history of his victory over Banerjee in 2021.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, earlier today, led a massive roadshow in Bhabanipur, energizing the BJP campaign as he called on voters to support the party. Addressing the crowd, Shah highlighted issues such as corruption, youth unemployment, and illegal immigration, which he claimed were rampant under the current state administration. The rally underscored BJP's push for change in the region, with Shah advocating for a BJP-led transformation to create a prosperous and secure West Bengal.
