In a diplomatic twist, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi pointed to President Donald Trump's recent statement as a hopeful step towards ending the escalating conflict between the United States and Iran. Chaturvedi highlighted that Trump's remarks indicate a desire for peace, especially after recognizing what she described as Israel's impulsive actions and the lack of NATO support.

Chaturvedi told ANI, 'This has made it clear that the US now wants the war to end. They have realized that Israel, in a fit of passion, carried out all the bombing there, and the situation that arose, Iran is fighting. NATO countries have not come to their support, so they too want the tension to reduce as soon as possible, and we hope this is a sign of that. This is a peace initiative from Donald Trump's side. We hope peace is restored soon.'

President Trump, in a social media post, claimed that Iran has initiated talks for a ceasefire. However, he warned that ceasefire considerations hinge on the opening of the Strait of Hormuz. Yet, there has been no official response from Iran. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected diplomatic breakthroughs, citing nonexistent trust between the nations.
