In a bold assertion ahead of the upcoming assembly polls, Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary MA Baby declared that the Left Democratic Front (LDF), under the stewardship of Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, has significantly altered the state's political landscape, escalating its seat count from 91 to 99 in the assembly.
Highlighting the government's accomplishments, Baby commended efforts that ensured substantial social security expansions for the state's most impoverished sections, likening the achievement to nearing a 'century' milestone akin to memorable cricket moments. Over the past decade, the government's infrastructural advancements have been noteworthy.
Beyond infrastructure, Baby articulated Kerala's unique position in maintaining communal harmony, emphasizing its recognition as the only state devoid of communal violence according to esteemed figures like Amartya Sen. He expressed confidence that these attributes would likely secure another electoral victory for the LDF in the forthcoming assembly elections scheduled on April 9, with results on May 4.
