In a decisive move, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday confirmed Amaravati's status as the state's sole capital. Speaking in Nellore district, Naidu addressed the public during the 'Pedala Sevalo' program, celebrating the passage of a bill in Lok Sabha that legally recognizes Amaravati as the state capital.
The legislation, supported by Congress, BJP, and TDP, marks a significant shift from the previous government's three-capital policy, previously criticized for stifling development. Naidu commended grassroots efforts in restoring Vinjamur Old Tank and announced significant infrastructural investments, including water projects to aid livelihood improvement.
The Chief Minister outlined ambitious projects, such as house construction, handloom clusters for weavers, and industrial advancements in Nellore. He praised public-private partnerships aimed at poverty alleviation and emphasized Andhra Pradesh's emerging role as a prime investment hub, notably with IFFCO SEZ's potential for job creation.
