Senior BJP leader Dilip Ghosh has made a bold claim, suggesting that the party has effectively 'trapped' TMC chief Mamata Banerjee in her own constituency, Bhabanipur, by fielding leader of opposition Suvendu Adhikari against her. Ghosh asserts that this move forces Banerjee to focus on Bhabanipur, eliminating her customary political mobility across West Bengal during campaigns.
Speaking in an interview, Ghosh emphasized that the voter deletions under SIR have given the BJP an edge in Bhabanipur's electoral contest. He noted Banerjee's previous defeat in Nandigram as evidence of her vulnerability, expressing confidence that she could be defeated again on her home turf.
Reflecting on his political journey, Ghosh was candid about his losses and aspirations. His focus, he said, is on expanding the BJP's presence in West Bengal, beyond personal victories. The party's current strategy, he notes, balances experienced leaders with fresh faces, a move he believes is critical in their mission to form the state government.
