The Sikkim Prerna Sthal, a tribute to 22 Indian Army personnel who perished in the 2023 Glacial Lake Outburst Flood, has been inaugurated by Governor Om Prakash Mathur in Bardang, near Gangtok.
The memorial, developed collaboratively by the Indian Army, the state government, and the Cello Foundation, also commemorates 294 soldiers who lost their lives in 13 border operations.
Emphasizing the sacrifices of Indian troops, Governor Mathur remarked that the memorial symbolizes national pride and awareness of soldierly valor during historical conflicts, urging visitors to remember their dedication.
