On Wednesday morning, the Gujarat assembly's budget session was abruptly halted due to a bomb threat sent via email. The claim of an explosive device forced the evacuation of all staff and Members of the Legislative Assembly.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Piyush Vanda reported that the threat was received just 15 minutes before the session was to commence, at 8:45 am, prompting immediate action from local law enforcement officers.
A thorough search of the premises was conducted, although no suspicious items were uncovered. The incident underlines the critical nature of security protocols in political institutions.
