In a bid to ensure peaceful voting during the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections, law enforcement authorities undertook a precautionary route march in Panur, Kannur district. The march was orchestrated by local police officers from various stations, accompanied by the Border Security Force (BSF), starting from Makool Peedika and culminating at Panur Police Station.
The march witnessed active participation from Inspector Jitesh PK of Panur Police Station along with 40 police officers, including key personnel like SIs Sarath PR, Mohammed Shajeer VP, Dineshan, and Akhil. They were joined by 53 BSF officers under the leadership of BSF Inspector Charan Singh and SI BS Sarkar. The Kerala Legislative Assembly elections are scheduled for April 9, with vote counting set for May 4, as announced by the Election Commission of India.
This election is poised to be a significant battle, primarily between the Left Democratic Front (LDF) led by the CPI(M) and the United Democratic Front (UDF) led by the Congress. The NDA, spearheaded by the BJP, is also striving to make its mark. Historically, the LDF maintained its dominance in 2021, securing 99 seats, while the UDF and NDA faced setbacks, with the latter losing its only presence in the Assembly.
