In a striking political shift, former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam has aligned with the DMK, directing severe criticisms at AIADMK's Edappadi K Palaniswami and R B Udhayakumar.
At a recent meeting, Panneerselvam accused the duo of being the architects behind AIADMK's disappointing showing in the 2024 elections. Responding to Udhayakumar's warnings against critiquing Palaniswami, Panneerselvam retorted, highlighting Udhayakumar's rise under Palaniswami's tenure.
He further claimed coercion into the 2024 electoral race from the Ramanathapuram constituency. Panneerselvam drew a distinction between chosen mass leaders like C N Annadurai, M G Ramachandran, and M Karunanidhi, and those appointed, asserting his position as an appointed Chief Minister.
