The MDMK, in alliance with the ruling DMK, has put forward its manifesto ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Central to their agenda are key issues such as state autonomy, welfare for fishermen, and the elimination of child marriage, aiming to address pressing social concerns.
MDMK founder Vaiko announced the manifesto, highlighting that a dedicated panel meticulously gathered feedback from citizens across the state, stressing that their promises are aligned with public sentiment. The MDMK is contesting four seats, three under DMK's emblem and one under its own, focusing on state-specific autonomy.
Vaiko also stressed his commitment to promoting state autonomy to strengthen India's democracy while advocating for the removal of harmful tree species affecting agriculture. This comes amid the party's active participation in state-wide protests led by the DMK alliance over LPG shortages, demonstrating unified political action.
