The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has emerged as a dominant force in Nepal's parliamentary elections, securing 125 out of 165 seats through the direct voting method, according to the latest results announced on Tuesday.
The vote count under the first-past-the-post system has concluded, positioning RSP to potentially form a majority government. Meanwhile, the proportional representation system's results are still being tabulated, with completion expected by Tuesday night.
With preliminary numbers indicating a potential additional 50 seats under proportional representation, the RSP could achieve a commanding presence in the 275-seat House of Representatives. The Election Commission expects to declare the final outcomes within the coming days, allowing official seat allocations to proceed.
